THE GOVERNMENT OF UKRAINE PLANS TO REPAIR BRIDGES AND OTHER ARTIFICIAL STRUCTURES BY 2025 AND TENDERS ARE PLANNED TO BE ANNOUNCED IN NEAR FUTURE.

02/06/2020

The Government of Ukraine plans to repair bridges and other artificial structures by 2025 in the amount of UAH 28.7 billion. This was announced on the website of the state holding Ukravtodor, which presented the "national program to restore bridges for 2020-2025". Within the framework of the Program it is planned to repair and build artificial structures on roads of both state and local significance. These are bridges, overpasses over the railway and overpasses over the road.

Today, there are 16155 bridge structures on public roads. Of which 5845 are on state roads and 10310 - local. More than 10 thousand of them do not meet modern norms and standards in terms of dimensions and carrying capacity, and more than 2 thousand need urgent repairs. The average age of bridges is 56 years, since 81% of bridges were built before 1980.

When developing the national program, Ukravtodor focused on two criteria - the request from the regions and the critical state of the bridges. First of all, bridges of category 4-5 will be repaired - these are those bridges that are inoperative or have limited functionality.

Project documentation for 30 objects is already ready and tenders are planned to be announced in the near future.
