SUPPORT PACKAGE FOR SELF-EMPLOYED ENTREPRENEURS (TOZO 2) EXTENDED

20/05/2020

The Temporary bridging scheme for self-employed entrepreneurs will be continued (Tozo 2). Tozo has two provisions, additional income support and a working capital loan. The emergency scheme for self-employed persons that expires at the end of May will be extended by three months until the end of August. Tozo 2 can be requested from the residential municipality from 1 June to 31 August. The start date of the application option may differ per municipality and can be applied retroactively from 1 June.

The following conditions are required for the application to "Tozo 2":

  • There is no capital test;
  • The viability of the company is not considered;
  • The cost-sharing standard is not applied.

The difference between Tozo 1 and Tozo 2 is that Tozo 2 has a partner income test for living allowance. The partner income test means that the partner's income counts towards determining the amount of the supplementary benefit. When submitting the application, the enterpreneur states the level of enterpreneur’s and partner's income in the months for which he or she is applying for the benefit. If the household income exceeds the social minimum, there is no entitlement to income support.

If the self-employed entrepreneur has liquidity problems as a result of the corona crisis, a loan can be requested for business credit, according to the follow-up scheme.
