THE COMPETITION AND MARKETS AUTHORITY (CMA) IS CARRYING OUT A MARKET STUDY INTO ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING IN THE UK.

CMA has launched the market study into the electric vehicle charging sector in the UK on 02.12.2020. Since launching the study, the CMA has been gathering information and discussing issues with a range of stakeholders. Nowadays, CMA is in the process of reviewing the information / evidence provided.
On this review CMA is evaluating 2 broad themes which are set out below:
- how to develop a competitive sector while also attracting private investment to help the sector grow
- how to ensure people using electric vehicle charging points have confidence that they can get the best out of the service
